Prof. Michael Chukwunwieke Uzorka was Born: April 27 in Agwe Obodo town, Rivers State (Ndoni District).
Prof. Michael Chukwunwieke Uzorka is a distinguished academic, widely recognized as the first individual from his community to earn a PhD. His early education began at Okoro Primary School, Agwe Obodo (1970–1975), followed by secondary school at Aboh Grammar School in Delta State (1975–1980). He pursued further studies at the Institute of Management and Technology, CPR Aba (1983–1985).
Prof. Uzorka earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Port Harcourt (1993–1999), continued his education at the same institution to obtain his Master’s degree (2000–2002), in sociology of development as an area of specialization and later completed his PhD (2003–2008), in the same institution becoming a trailblazer in his community.
He is married to Dr. Koliseyenum Carolyn Uzorka, and together, they have five children and six grandchildren.
Prof. Uzorka began his teaching career at Novena University in Delta State, where he secured his first lecturing position. He later moved to the College of Education, Aboh, and then to Ignatius Ajuru University, where he received a professional appointment. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to academia, authoring numerous books and articles.
As a prolific writer, Prof Uzorka has penned over 100 poems, reflecting his passion for literature.
