Hey, what’s up, #SpicyGang! I’m Nwanneka Mitchelle Uzorka known in the scene as Spicegirl Mitch. Born, bred, schooled, and based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria (Port Harcourt Gyal Original), I’m not just any media enthusiast. I’m a music lover, a music executive, and the creative force behind Spicy Model—a dynamic media, news, and entertainment company dedicated to showcasing the BEST talents from Africa and beyond.
I hail from Rivers State, and my story is deeply intertwined with the city of Port Harcourt. Growing up, I was always curious—so much so that my mum would say, “You’re too inquisitive!” I used to dream of being a lawyer like my favorite uncle. Little did I know that my passion for talking, expressing myself, and storytelling would lead me down a very different, yet equally fulfilling, path as a “media girl.”
What was your childhood like? Any fun memories?
Oh, definitely! I vividly recall teaching my younger brother how to breakdance—yes, as a young girl, I was full of energy and creativity. My siblings and I were huge fans of WestLife. We memorized every lyric, and Mark Feehily quickly became my favorite. Those were crazy times that still bring a smile to my face.
Educationally, Mitchelle’s path took her from Tenderfoot International Nursery and Primary School to Demonstration Secondary School in Ndele, and eventually she attended the University of Port Harcourt, where she studied Linguistics & Communication Studies. Even after her formal education, she has remained committed to self-improvement, “I’ve always made time to educate myself beyond the classroom—especially in areas that fuel my passion for media and entertainment.” She added.
Walk us through your career journey. How did Spicy Model come to life?
Her career in media sparked during her National Youth Service at Broadcasting Corporation of Abia 88.1fm. There, she honed her skills in anchoring live programs, news reading, and perfecting voice-over recordings. However, the real turning point came after her service when the challenge of finding a job led her to an epiphany: “Start up your own SHIT.” That moment birthed Spicy Model in 2021, an enterprise registered with the CAC, built piece by piece from determination and grit.
“While building Spicy Model bit by bit, I also landed an internship with Eveafrique Business and News—a position that eventually turned into a three-year full-time role. Alongside that, I worked in PR for Threadstone Couture, helping to elevate the brand’s profile in the city of Port Harcourt.” These experiences solidified her expertise and laid the foundation for what Spicy Model is today: a powerhouse connecting creative talents with opportunities through branding, storytelling, music marketing, PR, event management, and logistics.

Our client roster spans from emerging artists to fashion and music companies, and we’ve collaborated with many creative professionals in various capacities—media, hosting, PR, planning, and volunteering.
In 2023, Mitchelle expanded her knowledge further by joining the MBAforAfrica2023 Cohort program, where she emerged among the top 75 students and became the deputy managing director in the label she was part of (EximiaEntertainment). By 2024, she also took on the role of Artist Relations Manager at Interspace Distribution, a company dedicated to serving Indie Artists in and out of Nigeria. Mitchelle, also got accepted into the The Sarz Academy Branding & Graphics Class where she can perfect her skills.
Among her proudest accomplishments, creating Spicy Model from scratch is a huge milestone for her. Being recognized as a leading voice in her city is another major flex. “Each day, I treat every interaction and every project as a major life event that shapes who I am.”
One particularly touching moment came during a church seminar (ESAS) in 2023 when a young lady told her, ” You inspire me.” That simple exchange reaffirmed Mitchelle’s commitment to making a positive impact.
How has Port Harcourt, the city that nurtured you, influenced your journey?
Port Harcourt taught me to be bold and resilient. It showed me how to look out for myself, persevere, and even how to handle setbacks with grace. I couldn’t have come this far without the energy and lessons of this incredible city. Cheers to creativity, perseverance, and the relentless spirit of Port Harcourt. Her journey is fueled by inspiration from countless notable figures across various industries—without one specific mentor, each encounter and experience adds to her vibrant story. Looking back on her university days, Mitchelle fondly remembers a tight-knit clique of friends—Mimilicious, Blondiey, Jacob, and Jenny—with whom she shared endless meals and laughter. As the designated cook of the group, she not only nourished their bodies but also built memories that continue to inspire her today. A big shout-out to each of them—keep going, legends!
Beyond her professional achievements, Mitchelle is a true explorer at heart. She loves traveling, meeting new people, and immersing herself in different cultures—experiences that continually fuel her creativity. “I love traveling and exploring new cultures. There’s something magical about meeting new people and experiencing the energy of a totally different environment. It fuels my creativity and keeps me inspired.” She reflects.
What advice do you have for aspiring creatives?
You can be anything you want to be if you put your mind to it. Don’t wait for opportunities—create them. And remember, every setback is a setup for an even greater comeback.

Being Nigerian means embodying resilience, resourcefulness, and that never-say-die spirit. It’s a reminder that we hustle hard—after all, “no food for the lazy man.”
